Return to Giving At Work

Combined Federal Campaign

The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the largest workplace giving campaign in the world. Across the United States, federal employees give more than $40 million to Community Health Charities and the charities we help fund. Here in North Carolina, federal employees pledge over $500,000 million every year!

What to Know About the 2008-2009 Combined Federal Campaign
  1. Every charity participating in the 2008-2009 Combined Federal Campaign has received a new designation code.
  2. The new CFC code for Community Health Charities of North Carolina is 28829. CHC of NC has participated in the NC State Employees Campaign since 1986 and receives over $500,000 annually from generous employees across the state.
  3. Check your local CFC brochure to review the list of participating charities. You may find your charity of choice under Community Health Charities of North Carolina in the Local Federation section or Community Health Charities in the National section of the CFC brochure.
  4.  For a listing of national and local charity codes for the 37 CHC of NC member charities, click here.
  5. When you complete your pledge form, be sure to use the correct code for the charity you wish to support.

When making any contribution, Community Health Charities encourages you to pay careful attention to the percentage noted for each organization’s Administrative and Fundraising Ratio (AFR). In prior years, charities could not participate in the Combined Federal Campaign unless their AFR to revenue ratio was under 25% or they had a plan in place to achieve this number. Changes in regulations have removed this requirement, yet Community Health Charities has kept an AFR of 25% or lower as part of our membership qualifications.
